Isatis Tinctoria has a long history of being processed to make the famous deep blues used in textile dying.

The seeds are easy to grow and germination is strong. Woad can be invasive so use caution when planting. I recommend using pots/buckets to grow your plants. Also once the flowers have gone to seed place a mesh bag over it to collect seeds and prevent unwanted germination.
